Koffie Kàn collaborated with The Bruges Gin Society to put together this delicious coffee gin.
Aroma: coffee and dark chocolate and vanilla
Taste: Velvety, citrus-sweet with a subtle coffee taste.
The story: When Marjolein didn't have any ice cubes for her gin and tonic a few years ago, she used coffee ice cubes (ideal for that half coffeemaker that sometimes remains after breakfast). And that tasted delicious!
This gave rise to the idea of creating a coffee gin; a nice gin with a coffee button to top it off. Just as with their coffee, it was not enough for Marjolein and Frederik to bring a mediocre taste to the market. The coffee gin had to be there and just really delicious.
In The Bruges Gin Society they found the perfect partner to develop this. Different flavors were tasted, one with a bit more, the other with a somewhat less pronounced coffee taste and spices, until they finally chose this London Dry Gin.
Serving tip: Roaster's Gin combines perfectly with Fever Tree Mediterreans. Finish with cardamom. This is how Roaster's Gin comes into its own.
The Bruges Gin Society was founded in 2012 by 3 gin fanatics. Together with 15 core members they share the passion for gin. The club meets regularly for tastings, evenings about food pairing, effects of gin on health .... There are clear agreements: members are not there to get drunk, but to exchange ideas about tastes, spices, differences in gins and in tonics. The complexity and and diversity in the search for the perfect combinations is comparable to the search for the best wines.
